Norway Spruce: The traditional christmas tree. If fresh and kept watered this tree should hold its needles nearly as well as any other variety.
Blue Spruce: This tree has a silvery blue tinge to its needles and has a strong aroma.
Fraser Fir: These trees have quite strong branches for holding heavy decorations and have very good needle holding qualities.
Nordman Fir: A tree with excellent needle holding. This is a fairly bushy tree with thick soft needles. The most expensive tree because it takes so long to grow.
Scots Pine: These trees are normally very bushy, with long needles that hold well.
Noble Fir: These are the most similiar to the Nordman in that they also hold their needles extremely well.
Douglas Fir: A dense tree with longer needles than the other firs, like the blue spruce a very attractive aroma.
